Hello and Happy New Year!

Welcome 2017! Now don’t hold me to this but, I am going to attempt to BLOG at least monthly on some of the things I‘m pondering in 2017. I hope you’ve noticed our theme for 2017, “Get In The Flow.” I am excited about this theme and the messages that accompany it. Our Scripture focus is John Chapter 7:37-38.

Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

Jesus was preparing His disciples to be ready to do exceedingly and abundantly more things than even they could think of and consequently, I think that message is the same message for us. If we believe in God, as the Scripture says, shouldn’t rivers of living water be flowing out of us? Verse 39 sums up what Jesus was preparing them (and us) for. …

“But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”

Romans 8:11 tells us “All those who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately and permanently indwelt by the Holy Spirit.”

We have the power of Holy Spirit already and as your pastor, make it your aim this year is to be filled (again) with the power of the Holy Spirit, so much so that we FLOW with God in the things He desires Bethel Ministries, Inc. I have concluded a process must be presented towards how we are to be in this FLOW and that is what I will be explaining in the first four weeks of January. (View the media page to listen).

How we think about God (FLOW as if we’re in a Zone)

How we think about Each Other (Flow like a Mighty River)

How we think about the Power God has placed in each of us (FLOW like a Team)

How we think about the God’s Presence working in us (FLOW as a Mighty Mountain)

It is written in God's Word that during Jesus’ earthly ministry, He was filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1), led by the Spirit (Luke 4:14), and empowered by the Spirit to perform miracles (Matthew 12:28). And, after Jesus ascended to heaven, the Holy Spirit remained and equipped the apostles to perform miracles (2 Corinthians 2:12; Acts 2:43; 3:1–7; 9:39–41). The power of the Holy Spirit was manifest among all the believers of the early church through the giving of spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues, prophesying, teaching, wisdom, and more. All that is part of the FLOW God desires for us.

Okay, I hope you got it? As Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit, we should be filled also! Let’s GET IN THE FLOW for what God desires for us in 2017!

By His Grace!
